Relational Collaboration for Conservation: Centering Indigenous Voices and Biocultural Knowledge

July 23rd at 6pm Eastern

This seminar will explore principles and practices for building respectful, long-term collaborations with Indigenous communities in the context of biocultural conservation and regeneration. Drawing from her work on Indigenous methodologies and community-led processes, Dr. Desireé Hernández Ibinarriaga (Senior Lecturer in Design and Indigenous HDR Coordinator at Wominjeka Djeembana Lab, Monash University) will share reflections on how values such as relationality, reciprocity, cultural identity/positionality, and values such as respect, humility, and responsibility can guide more ethical and meaningful engagement and stronger relationships.

Simultaneous interpretation will be available in English and Spanish
